Job Description

The role is part of ReNew’s Portfolio Management Office, with the primary responsibility of ensuring project success by supporting the PMO Leader across all stages of capital projects. The PMO Manager/Senior Manager will collaborate with various business functions in the India Renewable Energy asset creation vertical and within the PMO to:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work Breakdown Schedules (WBS):

    • Understand and evaluate detailed WBS across different projects.
    • Support project teams in defining WBS as required.
  2. Project Monitoring, Controlling, and Reporting:

    • Enable Project Monitoring Lead and teams to ensure project delivery on time, within budget, with quality, and in compliance with EHS standards.
    • Understand and apply risk management principles in construction projects.
  3. Governance Reviews:

    • Assess portfolio performance and adherence to metrics.
    • Discuss critical risks and mitigation plans.
    • Resolve inter-BU and inter-function issues.
    • Deploy special teams to address challenges, if required.
  4. Integrated Project Planning:

    • Prepare integrated project plans by defining interdependencies, activities, milestones, resources, and critical paths.
    • Review L2/L3 look-ahead plans and provide guidance on catch-up plans.
    • Regularly monitor progress, proactively resolve issues, and plan corrective actions.
  5. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Determine reporting needs and provide key metrics and insights.
    • Use digital PMO tools for project planning and analytics.
    • Develop and update management dashboards using BI tools.
    • Build knowledge assets for PMO service offerings.

Project Monitoring:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business units to prepare a comprehensive project monitoring plan.
  • Identify and report the critical path and key insights periodically.
  • Support regular project update meetings and reviews at various levels.
  • Monitor action points and ensure adherence to agreed timelines.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Prepare periodic project reports and conduct additional analyses as needed.
  • Analyze plans and critical paths to suggest improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analyses on historical data to identify gaps and causes of delays or cost overruns.
  • Support initiatives like supply chain and land acquisition optimization.
  • Leverage internal and external benchmarks to identify opportunities to optimize cost and HSE performance.

Risk Management:

  • Conduct risk analyses and identify corrective actions for critical path deviations.
  • Use data and benchmarks to identify cost and efficiency improvement areas.
  • Develop analytics-based recommendations for process optimizations.

Project Tracking, Control, and Digital PMO:

  • Track and monitor project activities to identify issues early and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify critical delay areas and work with respective business units on mitigation strategies.
  • Support and oversee the implementation of digital systems for project management.
  • Coordinate with business units to address requirements and system improvements.
