Job Description

Job Purpose

To lead and govern Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) operations across Solar/ Wind Assets, ensuring full compliance with statutory, legal, and organizational HSE standards, while fostering a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in site operations.


Experience

5 – 15 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in Solar / Wind / Renewable Energy / Infrastructure / EPC environments.


Education & Certifications

  • B.Tech / BE / B.Sc / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
  • Mandatory Safety Qualification (any one):
    • Diploma in Industrial Safety
    • Diploma in Fire & Safety
    • ADIS / PDIS

Roles & Responsibilities

EHS Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all EHS laws, statutory requirements, and company policies across Solar/Wind assets.
  • Stay updated on changing EHS regulations and implement them promptly.

Safety Leadership & Culture

  • Drive a safety-first culture across site teams and contractors.
  • Implement organizational safety programs and track their effectiveness.

Training & Capability Building

  • Identify training needs in coordination with Central HSE.
  • Plan and deliver in-house and external EHS training for employees and contractors.

Monitoring, Audits & Inspections

  • Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify gaps.
  • Support site teams in closing corrective and preventive actions.

Risk Management & Process Improvement

  • Improve EHS processes through risk assessments, RCA, and operational learnings.
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and integrate risks into work instructions.

Incident Management

  • Support investigation of accidents and near misses.
  • Prepare investigation reports and ensure cross-site sharing of learnings.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Monitor health & safety metrics and risk mitigation plans.
  • Prepare and present monthly HSE reports to management.

Site & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with Site In-charge, Site, and QHSE teams to implement EHS systems.
  • Coordinate with Central HSE for system improvements and best practices.

Contractor Safety Management

  • Evaluate subcontractors based on HSE performance.
  • Implement and monitor the Contractor Field Safety Audit Program.
