Job Description

Electrical BOP Manager – Green Hydrogen Project
Location: Project Site (Assam or applicable state)
Reporting To: Site Head – Green Hydrogen
Travel: Site-based role with vendor/OEM coordination as needed
Tools: AutoCAD (basic), MS Project/Excel, relay test kits, multimeter/IR tester
Job Level: Senior Manager


Key Responsibilities
- Scope Ownership – Electrical BOP
- Supervise execution of:
- EHV transmission line construction (including tower erection, stringing, RoW coordination)
- Substation (GIS or AIS) including busbars, switchgear, control room, lighting, earthing
- Power/control cable laying, panels, UPS, LT transformers, and plant-wide distribution
- Ensure all works follow IFC drawings, technical specifications, and safety norms
- Contractor Management & Supervision
- Act as daily interface with EHV & substation contractors, ensuring schedule, quality, and safety compliance
- Validate contractor method statements, work procedures, and test plans
- Resolve field-level conflicts, access issues, RoW constraints, or technical clarifications
- Interface Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- Land/RoW manager for tower and line path access
- Engineering team for drawing updates or redlining
- OEMs for transformer delivery, testing, or integration
- Instrumentation team for control loop interfaces
- Commissioning team for cold and hot commissioning alignment
- QA/QC & Safety Assurance
- Monitor adherence to:
- Approved QAPs and ITPs
- Safety standards for live equipment and high-voltage works
- Testing protocols for transformers, switchgear, cables, earthing
- Supervise pre-commissioning tests: insulation, ratio, polarity, contact resistance, CT/PT calibration
- Work Certification & Documentation
- Certify daily progress, material receipts (panels, CT/PT, cables, structures)
- Support Site Head in validating:
- Contractor invoices
- Work completion reports
- Punch lists and handover documentation
- Maintain As-built drawing mark-ups and test reports
- Schedule & Progress Monitoring
- Maintain look-ahead schedules and track critical path items like transformer erection, relay panel wiring, line testing
- Highlight and escalate slippages and dependencies proactively

Candidate Profile
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (mandatory)
- Experience: 10–15 years in execution of electrical BOP in large infra, energy, or EPC projects
- Proven experience with:
- 220/132/66 kV transmission lines
- AIS/GIS substations
- Transformer erection, cable routing, panels, protection systems
- Familiar with IS/IEC standards, electrical codes, and safety procedures for HV works
- Strong command of electrical drawings, relay logic, schematics, cable schedules
- Experience in supervising multi-vendor execution, testing, and handover
- Excellent coordination, documentation, and field troubleshooting skills


Preferred (but not mandatory)
- Exposure to hydrogen, renewable, or industrial chemical plant projects
- Familiarity with CEIG approvals, DISCOM/Transco interface coordination
- Knowledge of energization protocols and pre-commissioning documentation
