Job Description

Civil Lead – Green Hydrogen Project
Location: Project Site (Assam or applicable state)
Job Level: Senior Manager
Reporting To: Site Head – Green Hydrogen
Tools: AutoCAD (basic), Total Station understanding, MS Excel
Travel: Site-based role

Position Summary
We are looking for a technically strong and execution-focused Civil Lead to oversee all civil and structural activities at the Green Hydrogen project site. This includes foundation works, buildings, trenches, roads, drainage, and all related supervision of civil contractors.
The role involves daily coordination, quality assurance, interface resolution, and certification of work to ensure timely and compliant delivery of all civil infrastructure aligned with the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities
- Execution Supervision
- Supervise all civil and structural works: excavation, PCC, RCC, steel fixing, shuttering, concreting, brickwork, plaster, flooring, finishing
- Oversee construction of plant buildings, foundations (electrolyzer skids, transformers, tanks, etc.), roads, culverts, cable trenches, etc.
- Monitor daily progress, ensure proper deployment of manpower, equipment & materials by contractors
- Contractor Coordination
- Interface with civil contractors to ensure:
- Method statements and ITPs are followed
- Work is carried out as per IFC drawings
- Compliance with project schedule and safety standards
- Resolve field issues, drawing clarifications, rework areas with coordination from the HO Engineering team
- Quality & Safety Assurance
- Ensure:
- Concrete mix, cube tests, rebar quality, and formwork are inspected and approved
- Foundations are executed with proper leveling, curing, and backfilling
- Stormwater, drainage, and soak pits are constructed as per local norms
- Monitor and enforce site safety for civil works including excavation safety and barricading
- Documentation & Certification
- Maintain:
- DPRs (Daily Progress Reports)
- Pour cards, cube test records, level check sheets, rebar checklists
- Certify:
- Contractor RA bills based on BOQ quantities
- Milestone-wise completion for billing
- Material delivered at site for foundations and civil structures
- Interface Management
- Coordinate with:
- Mechanical team: anchor bolts, pipe pedestal embedments, equipment foundation releases
- Electrical team: trench layouts, earth pits, cable tray supports
- Surveyors: checking levels, alignment, slopes, grid coordinates
- Reporting
- Submit:
- Weekly/monthly civil progress reports
- Risk/issues log (weather delays, soil problems, access constraints)
- Look-ahead plans for critical civil activities

Candidate Profile
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- Experience: 10–15 years in industrial/infrastructure project execution with hands-on civil supervision experience
- Proven experience in:
- Foundation works for mechanical/electrical systems
- Industrial buildings, roads, and drainage
- Reinforced concrete and steel structures
- Strong command of civil drawings, bar bending schedules, QA/QC checklists
- Capable of managing contractors, resolving field issues, and maintaining documentation

 

Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- Experience in renewable/hydrogen/chemical/utility plant civil works
- Exposure to MEP and foundation interface coordination
- Familiarity with BIS/IS codes, ready-mix standards, and audit compliance
