Job Description

Position Title: Associate – Scheduling & Forecasting (Energy Markets)
Role Purpose

The Associate – Scheduling & Forecasting will be responsible for renewable energy forecasting, power scheduling, real-time monitoring of generation assets, DSM analysis, regulatory compliance, and operational reporting. The role requires coordination with IPPs, SLDCs, RLDCs, forecasting agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate schedules, minimize deviations, and support efficient grid operations.

Key Responsibilities
Perform client registration and onboarding on scheduling and forecasting platforms.
Monitor solar, wind, and hybrid power plant generation in real time.
Analyze plant generation, generation schedules, weather forecasts, and operational data to improve forecasting accuracy.
Prepare, validate, submit, and upload generation schedules and revisions to respective IPPs, SLDCs, and RLDCs within prescribed timelines.
Track actual generation against scheduled generation and identify deviations.
Prepare forecasting accuracy reports, performance reports, and compliance reports as required.
Perform DSM (Deviation Settlement Mechanism) calculations and analyze the financial impact of deviations.
Support operational and commercial teams by providing scheduling and forecasting insights.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and alerts generated through monitoring systems and take appropriate actions as per standard operating procedures.
Coordinate with site teams, SCADA teams, and forecasting service providers for issue resolution and schedule optimization.
Generate and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to forecasting accuracy, scheduling performance, and regulatory compliance.
Monitor and track regulatory changes issued by CERC, SERCs, SLDCs, RLDCs, Grid India, and other regulatory authorities, and share updates with management.
Ensure adherence to grid code requirements, forecasting regulations, and scheduling procedures.
Support process improvement and automation initiatives within forecasting and scheduling functions.
Undertake any other activities assigned by management from time to time.

Qualification & Experience
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, Mechanical, or related discipline.
2-4 years of experience in Energy Scheduling, Forecasting, Energy Management Centre (EMC), Power Markets, Grid Operations, or Renewable Energy Operations.
Familiarity with SLDC/RLDC portals, forecasting tools, SCADA systems, and power market operations will be preferred.
