Job Description

Commercial Monitoring & Performance Tracking

  • Regularly review plant performance, identify technical deviations from commercial expectations, and assist in resolving issues impacting revenue.
  • Monitor contractual compliance, particularly related to energy generation, scheduling, and billing.
  • Prepare Project Actualisation & Commercial report with reference to original estimates and identify deviations and opportunities for cost/revenue optimisation
  • Support development of internal reports and dashboards that highlight risks, gaps, and opportunities
  • Benchmark performance against similar assets; identify actionable insights for improvement.

  1. PPA Management & Optimization:
  • Track and manage commercial aspects of PPAs; support in evaluating strategic sale options, identifying value through PPA clauses for revenue maximization opportunity
  • Work with strategy and regulatory teams to align commercial actions with broader market and policy developments.

3. Revenue Assurance & Risk Mitigation

  • Track regulatory and contractual obligations to avoid penalties and protect the company’s financial interests.
  • Prepare a risk logbook comprising of petitions issues and claims and operational penalties.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, and regulatory teams to mitigate risks arising during project operations.

4. Repowering

  • Assess commercially viable projects for repowering
  • Liaise with O&M, design, State teams; prepare cost-benefit models and summary presentations.

5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Support initiatives aimed at improving plant-level commercial performance and efficiency.
  • Contribute to idea generation and pilot implementation related to new technologies, market opportunities, or policy levers.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes that can impact operational projects.
  • Contribute to revenue improvement initiatives through BESS, DSM management, or similar innovations.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with PPAs, OEM contracts, regulatory norms, and power sector commercial frameworks
  • Understanding of DSM, grid curtailment, and energy scheduling principles
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools
  • Cross-functional coordination skills (legal, regulatory, technical, finance)

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering and MBA

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of experience in power sector commercial roles, preferably in renewables
