Job Description
Role - Deputy Manager - Quality - Solar
Location - Gurgaon
Exp - 5-12 Years
Academics - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Compliance
• Ensure timely inspection and release of critical materials such as:
o Transmission Structures
o Module Mounting Structures (MMS)
o Fastenerso Other project-critical components
• Monitor compliance with inspection timelines and defined Turnaround Times (TATs).
• Verify adherence to approved technical specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate and witness inspection and testing activities at vendor locations.
Vendor Development & Qualification
• Develop, assess, and qualify new vendors as per organizational quality and technical requirements.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and process controls.
• Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with approved quality standards.
• Monitor vendor performance through periodic reviews, scorecards, and corrective action follow-ups.
Technical Validation & Quality Assurance
• Review and validate Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs) submitted by suppliers.
• Evaluate and approve Type Test Reports and product qualification documents.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory specifications.
• Analyze quality trends and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
Failure Analysis & Continuous Improvement
• Review, validate, and monitor Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports from suppliers.
• Conduct field failure investigations and identify systemic quality issues.
• Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation to eliminate recurring defects.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives across the supplier base.
Third-Party Inspection Management
• Coordinate and manage Third-Party Inspection Agencies (TPIA) for inspection activities.
• Ensure inspection agencies perform assessments in accordance with project specifications and quality plans.
• Review inspection reports and ensure timely closure of observations and non-conformities.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain inspection records, quality reports, vendor qualification documents, and audit records.
• Prepare periodic quality performance reports and supplier evaluation summaries.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal quality management systems.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Additional certifications in Quality Management, Auditing, or Supplier Quality will be an added advantage.
Experience
• 5-12 years of experience in Vendor Quality Assurance (VQA), Supplier Quality, Inspection, or Quality Management.
• Experience in transmission structures, solar module mounting structures, steel fabrication, heavy engineering, or EPC projects preferred.
• Hands-on experience with supplier audits, inspections, testing validation, and failure analysis.
