Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer – Ingot & Wafer Plant

Department: Engineering / Design

Location: Corporate Office Gurgaon

Reports To: Design Head

Experience: 10 – 12 Years

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

 

Role Purpose:

Responsible for end-to-end electrical system design for new and expansion projects of Ingot & Wafer manufacturing facilities. Ensure safe, reliable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective design of HT/LT power distribution, process power, and automation systems in compliance with applicable standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Design & Engineering

- Design complete HT/LT power distribution system from 220kV / 132kV / 33kV grid incomer to 415V PMCC / MCC for process loads.

- Perform load list preparation, load flow study, short circuit study, relay coordination, and voltage drop calculations.

- Design single line diagrams (SLD), power distribution schemes, earthing & lightning protection, and cable sizing / routing.

- Size transformers, HT panels, PMCC, PCC, MCC, APFC, bus ducts, DG sets, and UPS systems for critical loads like ingot pullers, wire saws, chillers, and cleanroom utilities.

 

2. Equipment & Layout Engineering

- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and BOQs for transformers, switchgear, VFDs, servo drives, DC rectifiers, and control panels.

- Design electrical layout drawings: equipment layout, cable trench / tray layout, earthing layout, and lighting layout for process halls and utility areas.

- Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project specs during FAT / TPI.

 

3. Automation & Control Design

- Design architecture for PLC / SCADA / DCS, HMI, and EMS systems for monitoring ingot growth, wafering, and utilities.

- Prepare I/O lists, control philosophy, interlock logic, and power meter / relay network integration.

- Coordinate with process and instrumentation teams for seamless integration of drives, sensors, and IEDs.

4. Compliance & Optimization

- Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, IS, CEA regulations, and factory inspector / CEIG requirements.

- Incorporate energy efficiency measures: power factor improvement, harmonic filtering, regenerative drives, and waste heat recovery.

- Support statutory approvals, fire safety NOC, and electrical inspector drawings.

 

5. Project Support

- Provide technical support during procurement, vendor TBA, manufacturing, FAT, SAT, and commissioning.

- Prepare As-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.

- Support CAPEX estimation, value engineering, and standardisation across plants.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

- Years of experience: 10 to 12 years.

- Software: ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, EPLAN, Dialux, MS Office; PLC / SCADA tools exposure is a plus.

- Standards: IEC 61439, IEC 60364, IS 3043, IS 732, CEA Regulations.

- Experience: Design of 33kV / 11kV / 415V systems, PMCC for continuous process plants, cleanroom power, and heavy motor / drive loads.

- Soft Skills: Cross-functional coordination, vendor negotiation, attention to detail, and documentation.
