Job Description

Position Overview: 

The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across solar cell and module manufacturing operations. This role involves implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and driving a proactive safety culture in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and enforce safety compliance across solar cell and module production areas.

• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification exercises.
• Lead incident investigations and support root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
• Ensure adherence to statutory regulations including Factories Act, ISO 45001, and other applicable standards.
• Review and approve work permit (Hot Work, Confined Space, Electrical Isolation, etc.).
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to integrate safety into daily processes.
• Maintain safety documentation including risk assessments, SOPs, inspection records, and training logs.
• Support implementation of Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and Safety Observation programs.
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills and update response plans as needed.

Skill & Competency:

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA, etc.).
• Experience with solar manufacturing processes and cleanroom safety protocols.
• Proficient in risk assessment tools (HIRA, JSA, FMEA).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with safety management systems and reporting tools.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
• Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent certification (preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in EHS roles within Project & Manufacturing industries.
