Job Description
Position Overview:
The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across solar cell and module manufacturing operations. This role involves implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and driving a proactive safety culture in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and enforce safety compliance across solar cell and module production areas.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification exercises.
- Lead incident investigations and support root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Ensure adherence to statutory regulations including Factories Act, ISO 45001, and other applicable standards.
- Review and approve work permit (Hot Work, Confined Space, Electrical Isolation, etc.).
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to integrate safety into daily processes.
- Maintain safety documentation including risk assessments, SOPs, inspection records, and training logs.
- Support implementation of Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and Safety Observation programs.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and update response plans as needed.
Skill & Competency:
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, NFPA, etc.).
- Experience with solar manufacturing processes and cleanroom safety protocols.
- Proficient in risk assessment tools (HIRA, JSA, FMEA).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with safety management systems and reporting tools.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent certification (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in EHS roles within Project & Manufacturing industries.
