Job Description

Job Title –  Manager- Solar O&M

Qualification & Experience – B.Tech – Electrical - 8 to 11 years

Location – Gooty, Andhra Pradesh

  • Responsible for end-to-end O&M of utility-scale solar PV plants integrated with BESS systems.
  • Monitor and optimize key KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize energy yield and plant efficiency
  • Manage PPC operations ensuring real-time grid compliance and dispatch optimization.
  • Ensure strict compliance with grid codes, SLDC/RLDC dispatch instructions, and forecasting requirements.
  • Coordinate with load dispatch centers for scheduling, curtailment handling, and grid disturbances.
  • Lead O&M of Battery Energy Storage Systems to support grid stability and peak load management.
  • Optimize charge-discharge cycles based on demand, and grid conditions.
  • Monitor battery health, degradation, safety systems (BMS), and lifecycle performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and emergency response systems.
  • Manage operation of 400 kV switchyard including transformers, breakers, isolators, CT/PTs, GIS & Protection systems.
  • Perform safe switching operations and ensure high availability of evacuation systems.
  • Coordinate with utilities for grid synchronization, outage planning, and fault clearance.
  • Monitor protection schemes, SCADA, and ensure rapid fault identification and restoration.
  • Maintain strict adherence to high-voltage safety standards and statutory compliance.
  • Ensure optimal functioning of solar tracker systems to maximize irradiation capture.
  • Monitor tracking accuracy, troubleshoot failures, and improve system availability.
  • Implement preventive maintenance practices to minimize generation losses.
  • Ensure execution of preventive and predictive maintenance for solar, BESS, and switchyard assets.
  • Improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime through condition monitoring and data analysis.
  • Conduct detailed energy audits to identify generation gaps and inefficiencies.
  • Implement corrective measures to reduce technical losses and improve overall plant performance.
  • Manage O&M contracts, EPC close-out, and service agreements.
  • Track contractor performance and ensure adherence to SLAs and contractual obligations.
  • Administer contract certification and vendor payment processes.
  • Follow up on JMR & related statutory requirements.
  • Ensure seamless handover/takeover of solar + BESS projects from EPC to O&M.
  • Validate systems against scope, performance guarantees, and operational readiness.
  • Liaise with: SLDC/RLDC/TRANSCO/DISCOMs, Local authorities and regulatory bodies & Contractors, suppliers, and local communities
  • Ensure statutory compliance and smooth external coordination.
  • Plan and manage: Manpower and shift operations, Spares and inventory& O&M budgets
  • Drive efficiency through optimal utilization of resources.
  • Track plant issues and coordinate with engineering, accounts, contracts, and compliance teams for resolution.
