Job Description

Position Title - Assistant Manager - Civil/ Structure Design
Experience- 4-9 years
Qualification- Civil Engineering
Location- Gurugram

Key Responsibilities:
1. Civil Design and Development:

  • Develop detailed civil designs for substations, including site layout, grading, drainage, foundations, and access roads.
  • Design and specify structural components such as equipment foundations, retaining walls, and support structures.
  • Ensure designs accommodate the installation and operation of electrical equipment and comply with engineering standards and safety regulations.

2. Site Assessment and Planning:

  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate soil conditions, topography, and environmental factors.
  • Prepare site development plans and coordinate with geotechnical engineers to determine foundation requirements.

3. Coordination and Integration:

  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to integrate civil designs with overall substation design.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure design specifications are met during construction.

4. Project Management:

  • Support project managers in defining project scope, schedule, and budget related to civil engineering tasks.
  • Monitor progress of civil engineering work, address any issues or changes required, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Perform design reviews and quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of civil engineering designs.
  • Ensure designs comply with local codes, regulations, and industry standards, including environmental and safety requirements.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of civil engineering designs, calculations, and construction drawings.
  • Generate technical reports, progress updates, and other documentation as required for project tracking and stakeholder communication.

7. Problem Solving and Innovation:

  • Address and resolve any civil engineering challenges that arise during the design and construction phases.
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance design efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.


Experience: experience in civil design, preferably with a focus on substations or similar infrastructure projects.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in civil design software such as Staad Pro, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, soil mechanics, and geotechnical engineering.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including local building codes and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
